Babymoon!

We are in Hawaii this week for our babymoon! I realize that the concept of a babymoon isn’t accepted at all workplaces, so we definitely consider ourselves fortunate (one the perks of working at tech companies!) to be able to take a week just for ourselves before baby comes.

I do feel guilty for taking a vacation at an inopportune time. As I mentioned in my previous post, it’s an especially hectic time at work. On top of that, it’s the biggest event of the year for Women in Network — our annual Welcome Brunch — which I have spearheaded for the past 4 years.

That said, I was getting overwhelmed with stress and this babymoon was a MUST. It’s all part of prioritizing me and my health!

While I’m typically the type to plan a full itinerary of hikes, site seeing, and adventures… this time around, Jeff and I tried to keep our schedule as open as possible. 90% of our time was dedicated to relaxing, lounging, eating, and sleeping (I can’t say 100% because I had to sneak in at least one hike). I also treated myself to two prenatal massages, and to my surprise, my super thoughtful boss also gifted me a third prenatal massage! So I had a massage every other day, and it was BLISS.

So glad we took this babymoon, and so grateful to the Castlight, WIN, and Optimizely teams for covering for us so we could take this time to relax before baby comes.
