Halfway There: Letter to Baby
Tonight, instead of our normal routine of talking to baby, we decided to write baby a little letter together. I prompted this idea as I was thinking of all the best traits I hoped baby would inherit and learn from me and Jeff.
To our little baby,
We are halfway through the pregnancy! We haven’t officially met you yet, but we already love you. We will love you, no matter who you decide to become in this world. But we hope that you take the best parts of Mommy and Daddy!
We hope you are confident like Mommy, and humble like Daddy
We hope you are kind and generous like Daddy, and thoughtful like Mommy
We hope you are fun and sociable like Mommy, and fiercely loyal like Daddy
We hope you are driven like Mommy and Daddy, but remember to take care of yourself
We hope you appreciate all the little things like Daddy, but set your eyes on the big things like Mommy
We hope you like to dance and be silly like Mommy, but have a bit of decorum like Daddy
We hope you use your head like Daddy, and lead with your heart like Mommy
We hope you like to read like Daddy, and like to create art like Mommy
We hope you’re smart like Daddy, and hard-working like Mommy
We hope you love and appreciate your family like Mommy and Daddy do
But in the end, it doesn’t matter who you are and will become — we will love you regardless! We can’t wait to meet you, little baby!
Love, Mommy and Daddy
