Pregnancy Update: Homestretch!!

Today is May 3rd, and I am typing this post from our labor and delivery room at UCSF.

We have started the induction process, and we are settling in for the next few days. Fortunately, our labor room is really spacious and comfortable!

This last home stretch was unexpectedly difficult. Last weekend, both Jeff and I caught a cold. I ran a fever, and the two of us have been in recover mode for the entire week. While I don’t feel 100%, I do feel confident and positive about this birth. We are SO grateful for my mom, who has been staying with us for the past two weeks. She’s been life-saving to us — taking care of us, cooking, cleaning, running errands, and assembling furniture for two weeks straight. I’m so thankful because I honestly don’t know what Jeff and I would have done without her as both of us have been trying to get over this cold.

Reflections of gratitude: Looking back, I can’t believe how quickly these past nine months have flown by. We honestly didn’t even think I would be able to get pregnant on my own. Now, I am about to meet an actual human being that I grew inside my body. The miracle of pregnancy is so amazing. As I mentioned, I don’t feel fully recovered from my cold, but since I’ve already beat the odds, I’m not going to let a little cold stop me now! We are full steam ahead.

I’m feeling…
